The Jane Bradfords on TV

Submitted by Muze on Tuesday, 16 September 2008No Comment

The Jane Bradfords will be one of the Belfast bands to feature in UTV’s upcoming ‘Live at the Limelight’ programme.  The Belfast based four-piece are recording three songs for the show at the Limelight on October 2nd.

Having just released their debut album in April of this year the band have been busy playing live to promote it.  To date they’ve shared a stage with such Indie luminaries Maximo Park, The National, LCD Soundsystem, Peter Bjorn and John, CSS and Cold War Kids as well as zeitgeist pop acts Just Jack and the Hoosiers.

This highlights how difficult the Jane Bradfords are to pigeonhole into a genre; on the surface they’re Indie, but elements of Pop, Electro and even post punk are all in the mix.  There are shades of The National, Arcade Fire, New Order and Clap your hands say yeah there but they have a defiantly unique sound.

The band will be recording new material for the rest of 2008 and early 2009 before throwing themselves headlong into some hectic touring in the Spring of next year.

Live at the Limelight
Live at the Limelight is a series of four one hour programmes which will be aired this autumn and will showcase new Irish talents.

Michael Wilson, Managing Director, UTV Television explained:“Live music has been missing from UTV output for some time and we wanted to change that. Live at the Limelight will bring the best unsigned bands from across Ireland together to produce a great programme for anyone who loves live music. It’s something new, different and fresh for the autumn on UTV.”

The Limelight was chosen because of its live music history. Bands such as Oasis, Razorlight, Ash, Fallout Boy and the Proclaimers have all played there.
